Andrew Douglas Hurd discovered his interest in law at the University of Texas at Austin when he successfully represented a student organization's interests at a disciplinary hearing. During his subsequent years at St. Mary's School of Law in San Antonio, he was active in both moot court competition and free legal services to the indigent.
Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Andrew pursued many interests prior to coming to Austin. He soloed an airplane at 16 and enjoyed skiing every winter in New Mexico. During law school he spent one summer in Austria studying international law at the University of Innsbruck. He traveled central Europe and found time to try skydiving over the Alps.
He especially enjoys being "on the spot," aggressively defending his clients in court. Practicing law in his own firm fits his independent style.
